    The headline:
Guess What Happened to Violent Crime Rates After Ohio Adopted Permitless Carry?
    https://bearingarms.com/camedwards/...es-after-ohio-adopted-permitless-carry-n76474
Not only did violent crime and homicide rates both decline last year, the drop in violent crime in Ohio far outpaced the national average. The doom-and-gloom predictions of the anti-gunners were flat-out wrong, and Ohio is a safer state today than it was when Gov. Mike DeWine signed SB 215 into law.

We still have a couple of months left in the first full calendar year since permitless carry took effect, and statewide crime stats for 2023 won’t be released for several months after that, but a look at crime analyst Jeff Asher’s Year to Date Murder Comparison dashboard shows continued declines in the homicide rate in many Ohio cities.

Akron, for instance, has seen its murder rate decline by almost 40% through September 30th. Homicides in Cincinnati are down 13% compared to last year, and murders have dropped by 30% in Toledo.

    More at the link.

Seems early to prove a strong association, but at least things didn't get worse.

the reality is most criminals are opportunist… and have no desire to engage in a gun battle so they pick “easy/soft” targets.

When I talk to people about this very thing I bring up the huge crime spree they had in Florida near one of the airports. It seems that the criminals would sit near the exit of the airport waiting for a car with rental plates on it to leave. They knew that the chances of the drive being armed was very slim to none. Perfect to become a victim. One of the outcomes of that was they changed the license plates that rentals have there so they are not as easily recognized.

I mean... just look at these two graphics and then try to claim that removing infringements to bear arms increases violence. You can't.

    KJackson,

Years ago ( early 90's) our church mission group of 25 men went to San Diego and on to Tijuana to build some churches and bible school dorms in late Feb early March,

Of course for our flight back to BWI, we got a blizzard here and our plane was re-routed to Houston TX where we stayed in a hotel overnight. We were able to walk from there to local Tex Mex restaurants or other places of interest. As we heard stories from locals, a similar type scenario to your story holds true there around the Houston airport.

We were told that there was a mall near there that was called Green Point Mall- but it had been given the nickname, Gunpoint Mall, due to all the easy prey of tourists.
