If you had to choose between an AR and an AK to purchase, which one would you choose?

Specifically, I'm looking to buy a Colt 6920 for the AR and the Arsenal Saiga AK-74 SGL-31-95. I love both rifles, and I can't seem to decide.

I thought about the cost efficiency of SGL-31 with ammunition though, considering that the 5.45x39s are much cheaper than the 223 (although the surplus are corrosive).

Yes, yes- why not both? I so do wish I could :(

Get the AK and just buy an AR reciever that can be built later when you have the $$$. If you can't just get the AR.

AK's in all forms will be banned Oct. 1. You'll still be able to pick up a HBAR, AR.

That said, for me there is no question. If you have a choice between an AR and an AK, choose the AR.

Get the best or worst of both worlds preorder a LAR47. Anybody know where that rifle will fall as it pertains to SB281, not an AK more AR-ish but proprietary lower so no ar upper will attach.

Get the AR and forget about the AK.
I just don't see the fascination in the AK platform.

I think people are fascinated with AK's because it reputation proceeds it, for generations that have gone and generations to come, and that is the true validation of greatness, whether its liked or not.

as others have said, get the ak and a stripped ar lower.

then buy as much decent 5.45 ammo as you can to have some stocked up...you can get quite alot of 5.45 ammo with $500 bucks, not so much with 5.56 right now.
