Are the cop haters on here going to be charged if a NY cop drops in while on duty?

Yeah that is retarded. I swear I love NYC especially the night life but they are making it harder and harder for me to justify giving that city any of my money.

After listening to me read her the article (holding our newborn), my wife said: "We're never living in New York, that sounds way too authoritarian... F*CK, but that would mean we'd have to live in New Jersey!"

Seriously, what is wrong with New York?

This is string starting to sound like a LEO lynch mob. It says "physical intimidation". The courts will ultimately decide what that means (just like they did doing such a great job of defining pornography). But for now, I lean towards protecting our first responders.

From the article (I haven't read the bill yet). I like the concept because it's true there is 0 respect for authority anymore because there are zero consequences.

I was pistol whipped.......suspect got 3 years......He hit a freaking On duty full uniform cop with a gun.......WTF

I was recently shot at (along with 4 other officers) suspect is taking a plea to 5 years now after we were told that he was getting 10. Shoot at a cop and only get 5 years.......?????

However from the article it sounds like this bill in it's current state is poorly worded. Something does need to be done though that states, "You don't fight the police" Or they need to get a little more lienient on the use of force policy :)

I read the title of the thread quickly and thought it said

NY Senate passes bill making annoying Police a Felony

    instead of

NY Senate passes bill making annoying the Police a Felony

    it did seem odd................
