Now that is just soooper special.

No way THAT isn't blatantly unconstitutional. I'm sure there won't be a lawsuit moments after that is passed into law. Nope, seems perfectly fine to me.

I have no doubt Sen. Waldstreicher is furiously scribbling down a copy of the law's language for him to introduce in this MDGA session.

I work with a guy that immigrated from Argentina (actually, he’s my boss…) Anyhow, he frequently returns to visit family, and he told me down there, you basically need to return spent casings to prove you need more ammo (if you are fortunate enough to have the privilege of owning a firearm). He often tells me he sees things playing out here almost identically to how they went before things went socialist in his home country. Remember….30 years ago they were a first world country….

"I will tell you these are ammunition, they're bullets, so the people who have those now they're going to shoot them, so if you ban them in the future, the number of these high capacity magazines is going to decrease dramatically over time because the bullets will have been shot and there won't be any more available."

This is from some years ago. I think someone said it recently, too.

I can't even afford to fill all my current magazines at today's prices.
Filling all my magazines twice over, and repeating it three times a year would bankrupt me.

That law will suck for people who have any single shot firearms. Own a Remington Highwall, 6 rounds a year for you.

SCOTUS tried to be reasonable with Bruen, like allowing existing shall-issue licensing schemes to remain. NY, NJ, CA, and soon MD will leave SCOTUS no choice but to remove virtually any pathway to arms and carry regulation because those states have proven they have no intention of complying with the intent of Heller and Bruen.

I heard somewhere that in Greece, permit holders are allowed 20 cartridges... for life.
There's a lot of WWII German automatic weaponry hidden in Crete; brought out for weddings and suchlike celebrations.

"Allowed" and "available" are not analogous, especially in places that have been fought over. People trust firearms much more than governments. And deservedly so.

*****Greece has some wacky gun laws for sure, but the above is not one of them. As a private citizen, you have to belong to a shooting club and do competitions to own a pistol or revolver, and the license must be renewed every 3 years I think. Also you are allowed 500 rounds of ammo, and the barrel must be a minimum of 4 inches long unless you have a CCW which is really really hard to get unless you are rich, or a politician, etc.. You have to have a safe to store the ammo and gun, and transport has to be in a special case, along with the ammo.

One of my friends has dual citizenship with Greece (lives there mostly) and he was amazed at how many guns civilians have here in the USA - in Greece, mostly only the military and police have them, and many of the firearms civilians have are illegal and not registered, etc.. I copied and pasted parts of their more recent rules, but they may be out dated.

I took him to Engage Armament some time back and he was absolutely shocked at the variety and number of guns and that you could just buy ammo, parts, etc.. I mentioned the whole 2nd Amendment thing, and he said Greece doesn't have a 2nd amendment, or a 1st... or uhhh... any amendments...

Anyway, they are definitely strict there.. Some of their rules are below, but the info is a few years old so dunno if it is 100% accurate now..

Thread drift. Who was that legislator who thought that magazines were not reusable?

What's next from the NY temper tantrum parade of legislation - introduction of a new live fire training component that would require 4X mag capacity worth of ammo to keep new folks from obtaining a CCW? :bigwhoop:
