Just wondering how many uses other reloaders get from using a vibratory tumbler and corn cob grit. I use it for pistol brass and after about 5 or so loads it seems to lose its effectiveness. Thoughts?
Also use Walnut shells but add a Used Cloth Dryer Softener Sheet to pick up Dust Etc, It will turn Black !
Thanks for the quick replies. Been thinking about switching to walnut for a while now. I'll use this batch of corn cob and when it's time to resupply make the switch.
I usually add 3 or 4 sheets in. I use dirty media to tumble the range pickups the first time. I keep Clean media for the second tumble of range brass.
I tried to rinse it with water, but too much of PIA to dry it all out.
This! I got a 10 lb bag from the pet store by the mall over three years ago. Separated it into containers from the dollar store. I am still on the first container, and the current batch has been used a metric shit ton load. I've done pistol and rifle with this and it is still going. It is getting to the point where it gots really dusty, but the dryer sheet trick works. I guess when the dryer sheet no longer works, I'll use the other half of the first container. I still have three full never used containers in reserve.Get it at the pet store. think it's lizard bedding or something like that. Cheap too
