I hope the store is packed every day for the first month it is open.
I wonder how the libtards would feel about the all of there complaining being free publicity for a gun shop grand opening.
I may have to find some time to go over there the week they open.

Maybe if they opened a combination gun store and abortion clinic, liberals would get behind the idea.

Anyone have a background on the shop? Guys good to go?
I think I saw a petition in favor of the shop a while back.

Can't wait to stop in when they open. To all you VA residents in the area it looks like they plan to offer free transfers too...all you have to pay is the $2 for the NICS check.

    http://www.novaarmory.com/#!services/621687453

Not only are they offering free transfers, they claim that they will have the lowest prices in town, GUARANTEED. Looks like I may have to cheat on my LGS and go check them out :D

From VCDL President Phil Van Cleave:

A few days ago I saw a letter from SEVEN anti-freedom Virginia legislators to the landlord of the property that the new NOVA Armory is leasing in Arlington.

I am truly steaming. The seven legislators, on General Assembly letterhead nonetheless, are pressuring the landlord to renege on the lease, using a bunch of concocted lies and distortions, including implying that NOVA Armory would be part of a blackmarket and a “magnet for robbery” !

In the letter the legislators also CC businesses in the area, with the clear intent of putting even more pressure on the landlord and exerting additional force and intimidation.

You can read the letter here:

    http://ed.cx/lyonpark.pdf

The legislators, all Democrats (gee, I’m surprised), involved in sending this thinly veiled threat to a lawful business are:

    Delegate Patrick Hope, 804-698-1047804-698-1047
    Delegate Alfonso Lopez, 804-698-1049804-698-104
    Delegate Richard Sullivan, 804-698-1048804-698-1048
    Delegate Mark Levine, 804-698-1045804-698-1045
    Senator Barbara Favola, 804-698-7531804-698-7531
    Senator Adam Ebbin, 804-698-7530804-698-7530

I took a few days to investigate if there were any laws broken (such as tortious interference with a business) or if there were any General Assembly ethics conflicts before putting out this alert, so I could address the issue with as many facts as possible.

The legislators, some of whom are lawyers, danced right up to the line, but didn’t cross it because a veiled threat is not the same as an actual threat that is spelled out.

In a press release put out on Friday, NOVA Armory said they are prepared to sue those who maliciously interfere with their business going forward:

    http://wtop.com/arlnow-com/2016/03/lyon-park-gun-shop-threatens-to-sue-critics-lawmakers/

VCDL is standing with NOVA Armory to fight these legislative bullies. What the legislators did was not illegal, but clearly an unethical abuse of power.

Below is a story on this sad state of affairs. In a previous VA-ALERT I had asked all 27,000 of you on this list to sign a petition in support of NOVA Armory, but only 500 did so. That was used against us in the article, noting that the other side had 3,000 signatures! We need to make sure that never happens again.

    1. NOVA Armory update and action item
    **************************************************

The tyrants in the area near NOVA Armory continue to pressure the landlord. Let’s give the landlord some positive input and thanks for renting to NOVA Armory.

    Email: kvrealty@kv-realty.com

Suggested subject: Thank you for supporting NOVA Armory!

    Suggested message:

    Dear Ms. Varley,

Thank you for supporting NOVA Armory! I look forward to their store opening on March 26th. No lawful business should be put through all the false accusations and acrimony that NOVA Armory has, nor should you have to be put through it either. Once the store is up and running the opposition will lose interest, just as they have with other gun stores in the Arlington area in the last year.

    Sincerely,
    [YOUR NAME]

Went to the grand opening with a buddy from work and his wife. Very crowded with supporters, shoppers, and media (TOP, channel 9, etc.). No protesters at the site, they were at a nearby park saying stupid things. Was funny watching the media people pick interviewees - ooh, black guy! Woman! Guy with puppy! Someone holding a used FDE ACR (ok, that was just to video so they could say the shop was going to slaughter children somehow. Entered the raffle, but gave my grand opening tshirt away. Owner and his now famous daughter were very public in the shop. Seemed genuinely nice.

Smaller shop so more representative inventory, but all quality stuff. Small enough selection that I could probably list it all from memory! They have iPads set up by which you can order for delivery in 3 days to make up for the lack of onsite storage and display space. They also said they would price match, have very low transfer fees, and seemed very nice (it's the first day). No glass handgun counters with long guns behind, more of an open design. They have a good selection of 30-round Pmags - bought a couple to show support. It did not have a huge selection of other mags. Good amount of parking in the back.

Thought it was worth going but it won't be displacing my preferred MD shop. Good for them for facing down the ninnies though. The fight will no doubt continue with landlords and others under pressure to close them down.

Sorry I missed this yesterday! I would have definitely attended the opening. I wonder if they will be open this PM? The website doesn't mention being closed Easter. I would like to make a purchase in support of the cause. I always appreciate an opportunity to stock up on appropriate capacity magazines.

Took my motorcycle over to NOVA today. Nice little ride past the blossoms despite the tourists.

Great little shop. Nice folks. Fair prices on ammo. Really good prices on sig sauers...can't believe the price on a new p229 stainless elite. Also had a used walther p99as for $250. It was in excellent shape and it would be mine except it's in 40s&w.

They have a wall full of pmags and one nice point is they'll be open Sundays.
