I agree, in MD I would not get a RDIAS. Just get a registered M16 lower and be done with it. They are better than the RDIAS.[/QUOTE]

RDIAS installed in a MGI Hydra (now Windham MCS) is hard to beat. That said, my first MG was a Colt M16A1 and I would never part ways with it.

What was your turn around time with Tornado Technologies? I sent them a gun about two years ago and it was nightmare getting it back

I wouldn't say nightmare, maybe more leisurely and better than waiting for a stamp to come back... Excellent work and attention to detail such as the counterbore and remounting the front sight however, in this case, not quick.

They actually lost my gun. After numerous unanswered calls and emails to them I received a call around 9pm on a Friday night from the owner apologizing for the issue. I had it back about two weeks after that. The entire process was close to six months.

I jumped on the 300AAC bandwagon recently (had bullets, brass, extra upper, etc.) when I found a cheap CMMG 8" barrel to toss on a pre-ban SBR lower. Stock is an OG NEA CCS, can is a Chimera 300 with the flash hider cap. 240gr subs feed just fine through Lancer 300AAC mags. :)

Will find out this weekend how well this CZ Scorpion Micro gets along with my Form 1 JKA solvent trap project.

Picked up a new, old school upper. 9mm DOE Clone. DOE is Department of Energy. They were apparently used by security at Nuclear Power Plants in the 1980's. The full gun was the Colt RO633. The originals have integral carry handle uppers. This one has a flat top upper so that I can add a a red dot optic if I want. I put a detachable carry handle/rear sight on the upper, to give it the "correct look". The originals also used the standard Colt 32 round straight mags. I just stuck a 9mm EndoMag in for the picture. But those mags will be more convenient to use anyway as opposed to dropping in the mag well insert. And overall length does not matter. This is sitting on a RR full auto lower.
