I have a few suggestions to improve the wording of the index page:

    ORIGINAL:

We’ve all seen it. Our representative form of government has chosen to represent their own interests and not those of their constituency.

Our politicians pursue political agendas instead of carrying out the will of the people. Our state Government has decided to address symptoms and not causes. Instead of doing the hard work, they fix problems by creating new ones and label certain things as inherently ‘bad.’ If you own a pit bull or a firearm, you understand this more clearly than most. The problem isn’t the owner of the dog or the person who used the firearm to commit criminal acts, the ‘thing’ is the problem. The problem isn’t out of control spending or misallocation of funds, they just need more money. Instead of fixing the problem, they increase taxes on the public. Maryland always pays for their mistakes.

    SUGGESTED REVISION:

We've all seen it. Our elected representatives have chosen to represent their own interests rather than those of their constituents. Our politicians pursue political agendas instead of carrying out the will of the people. Our state government has decided to address symptoms and not causes. Instead of doing the hard work required to fix problems, they create new ones and label certain things as inherently "bad". If you own a pit bull or a firearm, you understand this more clearly than most. The problem isn’t the owner of the dog or the person who used the firearm to commit criminal acts: the "thing" is the problem. The problem isn’t out of control spending or misallocation of funds: they just need more money. Instead of fixing the problem, they increase taxes on the public. The citizens of Maryland always pay for the mistakes committed by their politicians.

Also, when you say: "Unfortunately, there has been a dramatic progressive shift in the policies pursued by our lawmakers," I am not sure that people will understand your point. The word "progressive" has extremely positive connotations for most people (vs. "regressive", "liberal", "authoritarian", or other adjectives used to describe political beliefs). O'Malley and company embrace the word "progressive"...because what red-blooded, patriotic American does not believe in progress? For our views to be taken seriously by the masses, we cannot be seen as enemies of "progress", however it is defined.

People who support the Second Amendment, such as ourselves, see our civil rights being stripped away by arrogant politicians who ignore our inherent, self-evident, enumerated rights named by (not "given by") the Constitution. We do not see this as progress, but rather as the actions of an incipient dictatorship which seeks to disarm law-abiding citizens in order to stifle future dissent and protect its own power. SB281 is the polar opposite of "progressive". We need to make it clear that any trampling of the Constitution, regardless of lawmakers' intentions, will not be tolerated, and will be opposed by every legal means open to us, from the courts to the ballot box, from internet forums to voter registration tables and beyond. True progress cannot involve unconstitutional laws. This must be at the heart of our arguments as patriots.
