New Springfield XD(S) review

I have competed in IDPA and Steel Matches for several years using only the XD Gear holster. It works fine for that application.

I really wish Springfield would supply a better designed mag holder with their XD Gear. The "V" shaped way they are held makes for an awkward mag change. That is the first thing I put back in the case after the first range trip. The one supplied by S&W for the MP kits work well.

I'd like to do a compare of the Shield and XD-S. Hopefully Springfield will release a 9mm version soon.

I spoke with Springfield Armory and they said they have applied in Maryland but don't expect a decision until September.

about 1200 rounds through the XDs and 1 malfunction / light strike from it being slightly out of battery. seems a common issue with these.. you must tap before shooting, even after heavy break ins.. the extractor seems too tight, and you can pull the slide back 1/8" and it wont spring back forward fully..
