Zero for the actual public land permit, but you need to first buy the $35 managed hunting permit. So, not free, not really.

No, they are two separate permits. You do not have to buy Mhp permit to get freebie permit.

You are right, I stand corrected. I do some of the “managed” hunts each year, so it’s true in my case but not for all. Good catch on that.
