I just received my Holosun HS510C. I have mounted it on my AR which has a fixed M16 style front site. It seems I need to use a rail riser. Anyone know off hand what height I will need? Also, how about a decent rail riser that won't break the bank. Advise on what to do is welcome.

Difficult to go wrong with an American Defense Manufacturing product.

At least, with the QD mount, he can rip it off if things don't work.

The plan is to use this for a pig hunt, so I assume I should get the Lower 1/3rd co-witness ?

As others have stated above, it's a personal choice. I use lower 1/3 on all of my red dots.

Only one of my lower 1/3 mounts is on a rifle with irons. But, yah, absolute cowitness would distract me on that rifle.

Besides being at a comfortable height for me, lower 1/3 also means they line up perfectly with a magnifier or rifle mounted AN/PVS-14.

This one is what I would get:

    Amazon product ASIN B08BPG1KD6
    Made by Holosun, reasonably priced.

yes night. I don't know what I should use, or just leave it as absolute.
The only suggestion I would have is, whatever you end up with, absolute or 1/3, don't use your rear iron sight if at all possible. Trying to shoot at night with front and rear irons along with a red dot can be very distracting.

    Are you using nods?
