i found this rifle and the price seems a little high. it has original strap and the bayonet is the knife blade style which isnt what ive found anywhere. everything ive found like it has the triblade style bayonet. he is asking $650 but the highest asking price ive seen was about $500. does anyone have any info on this. am i getting ripped off or a fair deal?

Some good places to find price ranges would be the auction sites such as GB, AuctionArms, and GunsAmerica. I'd start there.

Those definitly need to have headspaces checked if you did not know that already.

Unless there is something really special about it (like 99% excellent+ original condition) $500 is too much for a No. 4 Mk I rifle. $650 is crazy.

    I'd walk.

Way too much unless it's in mummy wrap. Especially too much if it's British manufacture which is most common. The blade type bayonet isn't rare, you can get them online for around 10-20 dollars.

I'm assuming you're describing a No4 MKI or a No4 MKII with a No9 blade bayonet. Does it look like this? If it's a No4 then I'd only consider paying that price if it's one of the unissued No4 MKIIs with a matching bayonet (these did come with a matching No9 bayonet) or a No4 with proper target sights like the AJ Parker Twin Zero which can fetch $200 on their own.
Otherwise figure paying $300-400 for a vg condition No4 MKI or MKI*. Perhaps $450 for an excellent post war Long Branch No4 MKI* (I just love these rifles, esp. those with the 6 groove barrels). No4 MKIIs strangely don't fetch as much, the aforementioned unissued MKII and perhaps the uncommon Savage or Long Branch No4 MK1/3s being the exceptions. They usually sell for about $50 less than the wartime MKI/MKI*.
A little more info or a good photo of receiver/buttsocket markings on the left side would really help.
