I've been meaning to publicly thank the fellas at 2A for the nice new pistol. I've gotten dirty since the photos, but hey, that's what you do with them.

Thanks guys for putting up with the visits and phone calls as I was making my decision. I'm looking forward to shooting this in IDAP CCP division Aug 1.

    (Do people say, "fellas" anymore?)

I really like it with the extended magazines. It gives you a few more rounds and a full size grip. It is pretty darn accurate at 20 and 25 yards for a carry gun.

I'm a big fan of my XDs in 45 acp...especially with the extended 7 round mag. Gun shoots very accurate for a short barreled, compact handgun. I like the extended mag just so my pinky can sit on the grip.

What mags did they ship with it ? The 7 is flush, the 8 is slightly extended and then there is 'big daddy' with 9rds and a collar on it.

That barrel looks long for the size of the gun? Do they make a shorter one? An xds would go nice with my 2 XDMs. :D

Yes, they make a shorter one, with 3.3in barrel. For concealment, the length of the barrel is not that important, thickness and length of the butt are the bigger issue. If you can conceal a 3.3in XDs, you can also conceal a 4in.

I going with you meaning what mags did they ship with the gun; one 7-round and one 9-round mag. Just checked and Springfield's site STILL says it comes with one 7-round and one 8-round.

The bonus mags ships with one of each, 7-rd; 8-rd; 9-rd.

It's worth knowing that the the 7-rd is normal to extract with the push of the mag release. The 8-rd is harder and the 9-rd is very hard. I admit I have some Arthur-itis in my strong hand thumb, but I can fairly easily get the 7-rd out, but not easy for the 8 and I can not get 9 rounders out at all.

I tried filing the mags at the catch slot with no change. I figure it has something to do with the greater spring tension and stopped filing away metal. It comes with ambidextrous mag release, so I just use my index finger and problem solved.

It shoots very well. I was putting holes in the center of the target at 7yds.

Ouch, dont start filing stuff on a brand new gun ! If the mags dont pop out, there is something wrong with the gun, not the mags. I just double-checked on mine and both the 7 (that lives in the gun) and 9 (that lives in the mag pouch) fall free if I push the mag release.
