What part of VA are you driving through? My wife and I have a few days to take a little road trip. I'd like to combine some civil war sites and hopefully check out a couple of shops that sell black powder guns and supplies. Any good ones I should know about? Thanks!
Still deciding. Either a southern route down the Eastern shore to Yorktown and across to Richmond then up to Fredericksburg, or a northern route to Sharpsburg, Harpers Ferry then down to Fredericksburg. I know the Chambersburg shop which I've been to, and that there's another near Winchester. Not sure of any others. What part of VA are you driving through?
Well, if you are near the Richmond area, you can go to Green Top in Ashland VA, just next to I95. https://www.greentophuntfish.com/Still deciding. If you go to Williamsburg you can go to The Gunsmith's Shop. https://research.colonialwilliamsburg.org/foundation/journal/Autumn00/gunsmith.cfm
Thanks! If you need supplies near Harpers Ferry, Back Creek Gun Shop near Winchester has powder and caps.

Tried calling for 2 days, left messages/number where their message said they'd call back, emailed them 3-4 times. Never heard back. Called one last time before we left the area this afternoon and they answered, so I know they were around. But, the shop not opened today. Have to say I'm not pissed, just disappointed that they couldn't respond to one message or email. Won't be inclined to do business with them in the future.Back Creek is right next to Fort Shenandoah, the huge national range of the N-SSA. That's where the skirmishers by the Holy Black in five pound bags and 25 pound "kegs" (boxes). You should also be ale to load up on pistol/rifle, and musket caps there.
But call first. The guys runs it out of his barn.
It's not really skirmish season. They really cater to skirmishers. They are right on the gravel road that exits Fort Shenandoah, so after a big skirmish there's a long line stopping there to buy supplies.
It's not really a shop: more like a guy selling powder and caps out of his barn.
Still getting laid?
Probably why he doesn't answer his phone.
