What i still dont get..how the hell are these applications expiring before the malley state police send them back? Let go back a year. 7 day wait...the entire ap was done in 7 days(probably within a few hours being realistic). So now, because they have more aps to process it takes them 30 days to do 1 check? Umm no. I am pretty sure they do each ap from start to finish. So how is it expiring?

Or are they doing a part of each ap, then another part? Still doesnt make sense.

Msp is full of shit. Excuses for incomptence.

I was doing an job ap not to long ago. I took a picture of a question asked..

This was for a regular pee on entry position in my new state. Not some nice gov job.

the NICS check is good for 30 days from the time it is requested by MSP. The State paperwork is good for 90 days after a ND is given. If the 30 days expires, the MSP is running NICS immediately so you don't have to go through the full wait again.

I need to understand the process better, do they need to query NICS at the beginning of their own process? Do they do that to quickly 'weed out' those who are not ND?

This has a stench about it..

I would really like to know this question as well. Are these extra background checks even worth it!?

    Probably/supposedly.

After all, there is only 67 records in NICS for MD.

    (Source Delegate Mike)

I am sure there are more than 67 felons in this state....
