So I’m confused. Does this mean a SBR is a handgun as far as MSP is concerned? And if so, would that allow one to have multiple “evil features” since the item is no longer a rifle and subject to the feature test? For instance could you have a suppressor and a folding stock on an SBR? Because prior to reading this bulletin I thought that was verboten.

Or am I an idiot? (Don’t ask my wife this question…)
SBRs have always been treated like handguns in Maryland because they can be concealed.

I took the free eForm 1 for my own Ruger Charger .22LR.

Don't quote me, but read somewhere that if it's a .22LR it does NOT need to have the MD required 29" OAL for an SBR.

I'm not a MD resident anyways, so, I filed my eForm1 like normal not really caring about the weird MD requirements.
Here is the MSP advisory stating the ridiculous claim that an SBR is both a handgun and a rifle.

If you don’t feel like clicking on it to see what it says I’m ok with that.

    ah. The classic “Schrödinger’s Firearm.”

It’s an SBR, a handgun, and a rifle all at the same time! (Without anyone even seeing it.)

Or maybe it’s more of a “Heisenberg Uncertainty Firearm”…you can’t know classification AND legality at the same time once you see it!

I am not sure how I would ever turn a firearm into an office of any kind, let alone my local ATF office.
Last I checked, a firearm was a small metal thing that shoots projectiles, while an office is a space in a building.

Federal buildings are “sensitive places” too - can’t bring a gun into the ATF’s office. Not sure how MSP can suggest otherwise.

I get what you’re saying though. Not sure how you can convert a firearm to an office mimicking an ATF office.

This is more confusing than my Youtube brain surgery class.

So, something like a 9mm AR style lower with a 6" barrel and a pistol type buffer tube and no brace is what? A SBR? A handgun? A prison sentence? All of the above?

    Apparently, yes. :sarcasm:

In all seriousness I think that is still a handgun.

    A pistol
A buffer tube is not a brace/stock so caliber is irrelevant.

What may be true today is not necessarily true tomorrow.

    BATFE says so.

    Trust them.

I filed 2 normal form 1's, I was going to do it anyways. I do have a few other I have not decided what to do with yet, the reverse stretch mp5 might be the tricky one. Strangely enough all my ar's with braces identify as 29 inches or longer.
