I am moving intrastate (HoCo to CaCo). 5320.20 is entirely optional, correct? All I have are 3 single shot trust silencers. No other NFA items.

Any upside to filling one out?

Not CLEO notification needed for the move?

As I understand it, yes. Completely optional. It is only required if you move out of state, which theoretically would involve relocation of your NFA items across state lines.

I dont thing the 5320 is for change of address. I believe it is for interstate travel with NFA items excluding suppressors. It's been a while since I have looked at one.
Call them and find out what you need to do.

5320.20 is what you use for permanent change of address.

I would add that there is no penalty that I can find for not doing so. Its really just to try and help they identify the NFA gun in question with the paperwork to make sure its legally registered. However there is no harm in updating this info, so why not.

I am against updating it every thirty seconds for barrel length changes on SBRs that us MG guys do 10,000 times a year without notifying anyone. If you no longer have an upper with that barrel length... maybe but probably still a waste of time for AR15s... because we all know you will buy another soon enough! Stop wasting ATF's time, they are already slow enough on form 1, 2, 3, 4, 5s....etc.
