Just got a bunch more in. These are a budget line made by Mossberg and most of the parts are interchangeable. Pretty good basic shotguns.

I have two already, and I think they're great!

I think there's some issue with interchangability of stocks with the 500. I think the 88 has a metric thread, and the 500 is standard, but a very similar diameter/pitch.

Ba-bam! How do you think the Mavvberg 588 began? These are excellent HD guns and will serve anyone well looking for a budget shotgun. Skip the imported stuff, Mossberg stands behind these things and they've been around forever. Simple and effective.
