****It's still pretty upscale. Unfortunately, there seems to be a criminal element there now that keeps many of the folks with lots of disposable income only going there during the day, and sometimes with an appointment with a more private setting (tailor, or private salesperson appointment, etc..), or just letting a personal shopper buy things they need that are not available on Amazon or online.

Tysons is still very nice, and lacks the hoodlum element for the most part that is ruining Montgomery Mall. Montgomery Mall still has some very nice upscale stores, decent tailors, and decent jewelers available with privacy if needed.

The time to evaluate the threat is BEFORE you close down the whole mall!

    :omg:
Respectfully Sir, evacuating the area is exactly the right step as soon as the incident commander decides that this could be real. Step one of running a bomb scene is get everyone away from the area. Considerations being that the people evacuating could trigger a victim actuated device but that risk is considered to be worth taking as opposed to leaving people around. You can't do a thorough search with people moving freely through the scene either. Once you've cleared all the potential victims it becomes a long, slow, methodical operation and the folks doing it can take all the time on earth.

Why expose yourself to brick and mortar establishments where the risks run high when you can do your shopping using the internet if at all possible.

    Tysons is still very nice
We left there just 45 minutes ago. One of the mid sized vacancies has a “coming soon” mural up featuring … this. I must be getting old.

My youngest daughter turned 18 last week. This makes me miss the days where a store claiming to sell farts would have made her giggle for a good ten minutes and then pull out her wallet.

You should go the extra mile to "Westfield Wheaton" where machete wielding MS13 chases are way down in recent years!

How do you cause massive public fear. Bomb threats, several at the same time, a fire in a parking garage or two or three and call in a man with a gun threat at several schools or other places the on-duty emergency responders will not be able to handle all of the havoc.

If a house fire, a single house on fire, can cause over 40 pieces of emergency equipment to show up on my street from five or six fire stations. You can bet that nefarious people can figure out how to instill fear into the general public.
