Mini-14 newb questions

I always looked at the mini 14 as the gay grandson/son of the Garand and M14 respectively. And the mini 30 as the gay grandson who is into communist liberal crap. I've fired them. They're fun, and familiar feeling of you're used to the two I mentioned previously. Fairly customizable. Definitely nothing bad about them. I just prefer their older relatives.
