Mini-14 GB 186 model ... has it been fired?

Just make sure the barrel is clear and clean, you're good to go.

I've shot a shotgun that's 4X as old as yours on a consistent basis I didn't do anything but look down the barrel before I shot it.

At nearly 20 years old, it's safe to say it's probably seen at least a few rounds, it's probably just had a very thorough cleaning.

So get out there and dirty it up some, it's too clean.

i got a mini from lou at the timonuim show. it also looked very clean as well. i had mine out already and put 100 rounds of american eagle through it with no problems. hope you got alot of ammo

Just had a 1000 rounds delivered yesterday. Can't wait to get her out there. Looks like crap weather sat morning though.

Looks like it is in good shape...go have fun! I love the mini-14 and no real issues shooting it as a lefty either...

If yours is like mine when I picked it up from Lou...the only powder residue that I could find was around the gas piston and on the metal shield in the (lower) stock.

As others have noted, these appear to be very lightly used rifles and were probably rack queens.

One day I may pick up a Mini-14, but right now I'm in the planning phase of another build.

When they're that clean, how can you pass??

rumor has it that Lou has cut a "glory hole" out of the Laura Croft standup.

p.s. i dont know how "clean " it is now. it would probably stand up in court as DNA evidence.

Yeah, I broke it down tonight whilst refreshing myself with a little russian standard. It's clean as a whistle.
