Trustworthy friend just caught nearly $3k in fraud charges before they posted to his account. Only recent online activity was with Midway.

Coincidence? Possibly. But maybe not. So stay vigilant. If in doubt, get a 1-time use CC #.

Why does he (and people in general) associate the stolen card number with online only transactions? My brother had his card number stolen by a Best Buy associate down in VA in a FTF transaction. Guy then turned around and used it with his employee discount... brilliant!

Knowing this person, it's one of a few cards that's ONLY used for online purchases. So that limits the amount of possibilities if it gets compromised.

I'm just passing the word along, and keeping tabs since I've had 1 recent purchase thru Midway. If people want to dismiss it, that's their choice.

Keep in mind, CCs are stolen via computer virus' too...

I ordered from Midway over the weekend. Ammo showed up today. No issues with the credit card but I am keeping an eye on it.

So, trust me. Well that's great to hear.

Let's hope that they have a bullet-proof IT setup and have hired the best professionals out there to try and hack them.

My bet is that they're like most corporations and that they have no real clue if they've been hacked.
