    Hi,
Can anyone give me some information about this program by the Maryland State Police?

    On http://www.mdsp.org/

Under Firearms/Permits/Licensing (about the middle of the links page), there is a listing for a "pending" application for a "Certified Handgun Instructor."

    (CERTIFIED HANDGUN INSTRUCTOR (Microsoft Word)
Application for a State of Maryland Certified Handgun Instructor Card (PENDING)

Does anyone have information/background/contacts for this program? Being an NRA Certified Instructor and having participated in teaching a basic handgun class over the weekend, this looks pretty interesting to me.

    TIA,
    Matt

I think it has to do with being a certified instructor for certifying armed guards in Md. I think a certified person can "certify" you. If you have connections to a security company, you can then qualify their emplyoees to be "armed"for work. If a company does not have an affiliation with anyone, I believe their is a list of qualified "instructors"that the MSP can give to a company to contact someone.
