hey guys im in the middle of my mandatory 7 day waiting period and just am curious as to how long it typically takes for the gun to be approved to be taken home...i have heard unfortunately that it is rarely 7 days becuase MDSP seem to not be in any particular hurry to let me go get my gun?

i have heard 10-14 days is pretty common.

It really depends on your FFL.

If the FFL is submitting the info via fax, the 8th day is the charm.

If the FFL is mailing the form, longer times may be incurred

I bought one at Bass Pro over a year ago and it took 9 days, because I bought it on a Saturday and they didn't send my paperwork in at the time of purchase.

I bought three regulated items in the past 1 1/2 moths and I was ables to pick them up on time. I think it also depends on how the FFL submits their paperwork. Must, I think, will fax them, but some still used the old snail mail which might slow it down.

I have always been told that if I don't hear from them (FFL), to show up on the 8th day to pick up.

I've done three regulated firearms through Gun Connection and two through Free State in the last six months or so. Have never had them take over 4-5 days to get the ppw back to the dealer and have been able to pick up all on time.

I have bought 3 regulated firearms this year so far. I bought all three from the same dealer. One was 16 days, one was 12 days, and one was 8 days.
