It seems other states are trying to add mandatory training to the right to keep and bear arms. Washington Gun Law YouTube video comparing firearm training requirements with Literacy Tests for voting rights:

Well duh. Anything they think they can do to get their way.

How about the fact that training facilities are completely unavailable inside Baltimore City. Folks with no car and at the poverty level have to choose between paying for groceries or paying for training. You need a computer email address to complete the application.

Maryland's laws are about as racist and an assault on liberties as you can get.

Just change the word gun to speech or protest or congregate in SB1 and you see the direct attack on the Bill of Rights that Maryland's leaders are doing.

Also the only way to pay for a permit is via credit card.

I used the Texas on-line Hunter Education training for my HQL training. The NRA offers the Texas course through their training site. The cost was around $5.00 when I took the course in 2021 through the NRA. After completion of the course, you will receive a certificate of completion that you submit for your HQL training.

You would take the internet course:
ONLINE COURSE: Free Online courses include TPWD and NRA. For TPWD, please print out the results of the FINAL QUIZ. For NRA, please print off the Field Course Voucher.

To take the Online Course through the NRA go to:

Then select Texas. The Texas online course is accepted as meeting the Maryland HQL training requirement.
