Maryland Carry Permit turnaround time

anyone who has recently applied for a MD carry permit in the last year what type of turn around times did/are you seeing.

All the forums i have been seeing are older and probably out of date.

(Especially business owners)

any info would be great. Thank you.

Took mine about 60 days… think the calls from the investigator happened around 45 days, permit came two weeks later.

What I was trying to say is I applied on 4/19, and did my interview 5/18 and was told all references are done 5/19.

Was told everything is looking good so far. Trooper was great

I feel like so far I’m moving quickly though the process.

I have a lot of students who apply for it and it has taken about 30-60 days lately in total time.

Application sent in last week of January 2022. Entire process was 45 days for approval, plus a few days for the mail to arrive with the permit.

Here's been my timeline thus far:

4/12: Applied
4/13: Accepted
4/24: Assigned to an investigator
5/06: Called by investigator to schedule a phone interview
5/09: Called by investigator for phone interview
5/10: References called by investigator
5/11: Email received from investigator stating completion of fact-finding and to await a decision no later than 13 JUL 2022.

They seem to be moving along at a fairly quick pace. Counting down the days now...

App was accepted on 8/13. Received permit on 10/13. Applied for PA a few days later. Email back from PA in two days. Permit must be picked up in person in York. Once there, it took 5 minutes. Very helpful pleasant lady took photo and handed me PA permit. Applied for HQL based on MD permit, took two days to get email permit. Now MD HQL is a letter from MSP, no card provided. HQL good for 10 years.

Just to be clear, one can apply in Adams county, and then the PA permit must be picked up in person in Gettysburg.
