Got my 10 mags full for the 795. When did you guys send in the mail in rebate? I sent mine in the last week of November.

I need a new scope for mine, the cheapo one I bought is drving me nuts. :sad20:

hey Flasko-- based on your name and icon I assume you're either a habitual drunkard ( as asked on the FFL forms) or a collector of flasks.
I saw these the other day and thought you might be interested--- they're at Maxwells on Main Street in Fallston ( yes -- Fallston actually has a Main Street):D

Shoot-- picture didn't turn out big enough but one is the Monopoly guy passing Go and getting $200 and the other is the Go Straight to jail scene form the game... thought they were pretty unique for a collector....

    Very cool flasks

Not into the habitual drunkard thing, but many years ago, having a flask around the campfire during an offroading trip made for a nickname someone threw at me that just stuck. Thanks for the cool pics, and for bringing back some good memories :party29:

    Rebate deal continued into 2011

I just purchased a Marlin 795 and I saw that on Marlin's website they have the rebate form updated to include all of 2011. I got my 795 from Dick's Sporting Goods because they had it in stock. It wasn't on sale but the $25 rebate will be nice. Just wanted to let everyone know if they were still thinking of getting one.

Got my 795 ordered from Estate Brokers in Havre de Grace today--- nice little shop--traded a few old putters... Deb was great to work with... Will definitely go back again...

The rebate says to attach the register reciept--- but I got a handwritten receipt. Did anyone else send in a hand written receipt?

ummmmm-- how hard to modify, and once modified could they still be used for the 60? I don't want to order 2.... (actually I realize now after thinking once modified they'd look like crap with the 60...

ordered the same one. If you go to Rimfire central you can see guys who have proper wood working heavy machinery who do a perfect job, meaning lining up the grain etc.

What needs to be done is cut the magazine hole in the bottom of the stock. Should not be hard, leave a mil all around to then sand it down to fit, hole is then covered with the trigger guard to disguise any mishaps. Handy guys take the largest piece you cut out from the magazine hole and use it to fill the front of the stock where the 60 has the tube mag. Not necessary, just cosmetic. I will try and find a thread with pics for you.

Plenty of thread with lots 'o pics to look at. You will see that people used everything from Dremels, files, chissels, rasps to professional woodworking machinery.

All up to your level of how professional you want it to look like.

but this looks pretty darn good to me ...

At first I will just drill holes in the wood for the trigger guard screws until everything fits the way I like it and test fire it. Then later I will drill bigger holes and have metal coupling nuts inserted and epoxied.

Even the plain old marlin replacement stock is pretty damn good looking. A big improvement on the plastic one that comes with the gun. I was waiting for the gray factory laminated stock but I don't think it will ever be in stock at this rate so I'm considering buying the regular brown one.
