Hello fellow Marylanders - I am new to this forum. I have a few Mark II's that I shoot a lot. I have done a lot of trigger jobs and trouble shooting for fellow Mark II shooters. If you have any questions about lightening the trigger pull, installing replacement or aftermarket parts, or just comments about these fine guns, feel free to put in a thread about it. I have also done some work on the Mark III's, but in my opinion they have a lot of unnecessary parts to satisfy the anti-gun folks. The mag release is the only good upgrade I can see in them, but they are still great guns to shoot and have fun with.

    Hi Emmett,

    Welcome aboard.

If you could just make my MkII stop being such a PITA to reassemble, I'd be happy. ;)

Reassembly should be a piece of cake after doing it a few times. The key to the re-assembly process is the position of the hammer strut when closing the mainspring latch. After you put in the bolt, and push the pin up through the receiver and the barrel, look to see where the strut is. If it is caught behind the pin that goes across the frame it will not work. It should be hanging free. I also hold the gun up at an angle with the barrel facing about 2:00. I usually put in the bolt, push the pin up through, check the position of the strut, PULL THE TRIGGER, and close the mainspring housing. Works every time as long as the strut is hanging free.
