Just a guess but the actual poll shouldn't take too long (I assume a few weeks because the other judges would need to look over the case before voting). What could extend it further is possible dissents being written (meaning the court voted against en banc).
This is pretty unusual, for one thing, the decision just came down and I assume the plaintiffs simply haven't had time to put in the papers to appeal en banc. If you recall the 9th Circuit chief judge Sidney Thomas did this in Peruta after the county declined to appeal their 3 judge panel loss.
We'll see what happens but it looks like as it stands now we have a split between the 5th and 11th circuits post-Bruen.

No, one of the judges on the full panel doesn't like what the three judges said so he is asking (polling) the other judges on the full panel to see if enough agree with him so they can overturn the unconstitutional ruling of the three judge panel before it goes any further.
