I have an M57 Yugo which I have used quite a bit and enjoy shooting. I have had it apart and cleaned it many times. Last week I shot and cleaned it but upon reassembly, the slide will not go back more than a little less than 1/2 inch. I have taken it apart and reassembled it with the same results. Everything looks and fits normally but something is blocking and preventing the slide being pulled back.

All I can figure is that it is related to the recoil spring assembly. Without the spring assembly it fits, slides and seems to function normally. Has anyone else seen this oris old age setting in and:sad20: am I just forgetting something??

Thanks for the info. It is assembled correctly. The recoil spring asssembly on the M57 is a split rod that holds the spring captive and is held together with a pin. Something is preventing the recoil spring from compressing.
