M1a Socom16 Vortex Venom mounting plate

My nephew has an M1a and a vortex venom red dot. He is looking for the specific mount plate from Springfield required to mount the sight on the M1a.

He's been on their wait list for a long time. I don't know if he's looking for hens teeth or just looking in the wrong place.

Does anyone know where he might be able to find one?

Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas for an alternate mounting solution?

Stupid question. Would this work on a M1 Garand since they are similar?

I got one years ago and it worked very well. Only scope is over the iron sights. A comb riser is probably a necessity.
