I was lucky, I picked up a GI mount when they were still almost reasonable.

Then was REALLY lucky when I picked up an original M84 for about 1/2 price off GB.

    Pics this weekend.

Looking forward to the pictures, I got the Repro scope from keepshooting who has some decent Repro scopes but I've heard bad things about the reproduction scope mount. Problem is half of the people out there are trying to sell reproduction scope mounts as original GI. You really have to know what you're looking at.

Thanks, OCJ. Is it attached by set screws, or screwed on?

    Q

Barrel is threaded and the flash hider screws on tight and then the gas plug goes through the lower part to lock it all together. Hope this helps.

so am i too late to say you need a bigger house :)

That’s what I am doing in a few weeks!

I say it’s because my collection out grew my house. My wife says it’s because we have too many kids for our current house and needed another bedroom.

You say tomato, I say tomaa-to.

My wife isn’t very comfortable with guns and if I want to grew my collection really, I am going to need it as far “out of the house” as possible. The house doesn’t have a detached garage, but a project for a couple of years from now is a 2 car garage with a large conditioned workshop I can roll my gun safe in to.

My wife is pushing for me to put all my guns out there. As I told her “hell no”. I’ll get a smaller safe for just the few valuable ones and the couple for HD/varmints (more likely need to pop a groundhog than a burglar on that property). But I won’t not have any guns in the house itself.

But it will let me expand more and not just because I’ll have the safe space. My wife is much more okay if the stuff is “out of sight, out of mind”.

Sad it’ll likely take me 2-4yrs before I have the detached garage built. It is what it is.

Everything I have read about the flash hiders for the M1 is, they do nothing, except possibly reduce accuracy.

    But they look cool. :D

They make a pretty good tuning fork also.
As far as accuracy goes this rifle is very good without the scope. It will be interesting to see how much better or worse it becomes once I find a scope mount.

    Thanks for the visual, OCJ.
