I'll ask over in the Shotgun section as well, but I figured I'd reach out here to see if any of my fellow crufflers happened to own a copy of Donald Dallas's "Boss & Company: Best Gunmakers Second Edition" that I might be able to borrow for a few days. I found what I thought to be a diamond in the rough and took a chance. An email that landed in my inbox this morning from Boss & Co. of London confirmed my hunch. Now I just need to do a little more digging and this book is apparently the one I need. I have a copy of the 1st edition inbound (it was reasonably priced) but the 2nd edition Is more thorough, more up-to-date, and most importantly, more expensive than some of the guns I've purchased recently.
