Yes! Those are awesome. The action is much better once you get the cosmoline out.;)

You can strip it, put it outside, and get it warmed enough so the cosmo wipes off or use mineral spirits. I did both and it turned out perfect.

I actually put mine in a container and dumped boiling water in it then moved it right into a container with WD40 and it took like 10 minutes to get all cosmo off

Save the boiling water for hard boiling eggs.
Save the gasoline for your car.
No need to set anything on fire.
Soak the parts in mineral spirits in a pan (oil drain pan works well).
Brush parts with a small nylon brush (old tooth brushes work well) and re-rinse with mieral spirits.
Dry parts and apply CLP or your choice of gun oil ;)

I've had the sound of the song Garand1957 inadvertently wrote in my head since I first saw this thread and his post. :banghead:

Nice M57. Clean the cosmoline out of it as the song says and let us know how it shoots. :)

    Looks like a tokarev

Kerosene and a paint brush on a newspaper work for me. Then a rag takes most of the rest off. Of course take the plastic grips off first. Still wondering where did you get it from?
