Sounds like a perfect opportunity for a chain to specialize in guns, rods and ammo.

That's a little bit niche to make a chain of stores . A " pure " store like that at most would support something the size of a typical LGS .

Nothing wrong with an operation like that , but limits to how far it could be scaled up , and reproduced.

What could be hoped for is an establishment with a strong gun department , plus outdoor camping , hiking , etc , and clothing of interest to people who like the above .

For a role model ( albeit it's not a chain ) is Green Top Sports in Virginia . Probably in a square footage of 1/3 to 1/2 of current " new" location .

The original location was limited by being cramped . They stumbled into current location down the street in large pre existing building , but it's obvious to my eye they had to stretch out to fill it up . But at least they did it without any stick & ball stuff .

Clark Brothers and Juniata Trading Co. maybe? Both come to mind. I question if either would work in Merryland though.

Juniata proves the point , that only half the store is guns , fishing , the rest is clothing and gifts .

If you're in western MD, go southwest to the Sportsman's Warehouse in Winchester. Even have reloading supplies, besides firearms and ammo.
