I've got a couple of open positions for a line cook. Could be up to 4 open positions depending on how things flush out with our extended hours. Starting compensation is $20-$24/hr and the hours are great compared to other restaurants.

place I’m at also having a hard time finding cooks, servers, bartenders. The ones that do apply don’t really want the hours. Too many hours reduces their “benefits” I guess. Where did all the prepandemic employees go to?

Damn near $50k for a line cook. That is both amazing and terrifying at the same time. There should be people lined up at the door begging you for the job.

I worked as a short order cook at a ocean resort restaurant called the Little Club in the late sixties. I was paid $1.25 an hour. However, on Friday nights I could cook up a bunch of pizzas and cheese steaks free of charge for the guys and gals I hung out with. Ahhh, those were the days.

Should be. There are few people who want to work, take on any responsibility, show up on time, put out 100% etc.
