Great 5 shot group at 200 yards.

Thanks, that was off of sandbags at Hap Baker and I was holding over 5 inches since I was zeroed for 150 yards.

I was initially re-sighting in the Vortex Diamondback 1.5-5x32 scope because I wasn't happy with the cheap single piece base and rings that I put on it after I bought the rifle. I changed the base to a Warne Maxima two piece base and went with the Burris Signature Zee rings and haven't look back. I've always have had good results with Burris rings on my other rifles so I figured that I would use them on the Marlin as well. After I had everything lined up and zeroed the way I wanted, I figured what the hell and stretch it to 200 yards just to see how well it would do.

Thought I was going to snag an auction deal for a .38-55 takedown Trails end but it went a tad high

You are likely to get a very good price on that as long as your description, photos etc are accurate. I bet you get $1200+

Added a Marlin 336c 35 rem to the collection this weekend. New Remlin, but it actually looks pretty good. Wood to metal finish is not perfect, but good. Pics tonight.

Seriously considering my first lever action, 45lc to pair with my revolver. I've read good, great and not so great things in this thread. Thinking my budget would hover around $1,000. Used for plinking and mountain deer hunting, no thoughts of scoping it. Thoughts?

The Rossi 92 should be sufficient for what you two are looking to do. Easy to find for $500 or less. They come with a rear sight and a scope mount. Nice guns, not great for SASS but they are strong enough to take +P 45 Colt loads.
