That’s exactly what I’m looking for right now. Yours looks to be in great condition.[/QUOTE]

I saw a WTB ad, but I'm pretty sure I am not getting rid of it. Best of luck in your search, and I'll let you know if I change my mind.

Really beautiful set of lever rifles, MexicanBob - any which singularly would be an enviable addition to a collection. One of the best of series of pics in a post that I've seen in this thread.

I cleaned up a Rosevelt model for a buddy not long ago. He wouldn’t sell it to me. It wasn’t for lack of trying.

Mexican Bob, I believe collectively through all of your posts you may have one of the best gun collections I have seen posted. I am in awe of your revolvers and your lever rifles are pretty great too.

I think he has more Colts than I own firearms. Which is saying something

I'm deeply humbled when I see some of his collection. It gives me something to aspire to.

I found something cool yesterday. Ive had and old lever action 22lr in the back of the safe for ever. the rifle belonged to my dad. i shot that gun years ago. it been in a gun sock for years. I could not even remember what it was. I was thinking savage or a stevens. took it out last night to look, its a Marlin 39a
the serial # starts with B and is 4 no long starting with 2xxx.
that places it production 1941 ! prewar. l aittle history show this old thing might be worth a few coin ! guess i better clean it up.
i will try to post a few pic if i can figure that out !:)

Marlin 39 rifles are considered by many to be the finest lever-action .22 rifles ever made. Even Marlin cannot build them that way anymore except for a special order which costs something like $3k. Take care of that lovely lever gun...and post pics when you get it cleaned up!

it has a very good case hardened finish. i remember as kid thinking that the receiver was messed up ! lol what I know now...
its cool knowing that its been in the family since new ! I dont think i would ever place a value on it to sell, only to insure it ...

You should plan a rod trip to Taylor & Company on May 18-19 as they're having their Spring Open House...everything is on sale plus a dinged and dented sale and other events. These are very fine people...very friendly and fantastic to deal with. I'm not sure but I believe the company is women run and most of their sales is staff consists of some very nice looking and friendly ladies.

If you can go on Friday you'll be better off...the place is really crazy and has an overloaded parking lot on these days but Saturday will be worse. Mapquest it or enter it into whatever map app on your smartphone or your car's navigation system...it's back in an industrial area. It's not difficult to find but a few turns back and forth.

Enjoy and Happy Birthday! Whatever you buy post pics.
