I think your thread title sucks.
That seems reasonable, therefore it must be wrong (but I agree)

I thought about the corn cob thing and apple type of thing but the platform below it looks like it was designed to hold a bucket or container to catch what was forced through the small hole. I was also thinking a punch for something soft but can't think what it would be.
