Nascar driver Kyle Busch got busted in Mexico for having a handgun in his bag. Got fined $1,500 and sentenced to 3.5 years!. They let him return to the US. I'll bet he doesn't go back to Mexico.

Didn't know the law? The gun laws in a most violent country?
You're somebody famous and stupid, but if you weren't famous and rich?
He's probably a nice guy, obvious semi-law abiding citizen meaning no harm because he has a carry permit.
Further more, if you got the $$$, why spend it in Mexico?

You don't know Nascar, but you are correct in the rest of it.
Kyle is one of the best drivers...ever. He is also one of the most hated drivers currently racing, Widely booed when he wins because when he started his career he was one of the most arrogant, immature p***ks you can imagine. If he didn't win, he would stomp off to his trailer and refuse to talk to the press.
TSA nails a huge number of people who "forgot" they were carrying. For those of us who lived in Maryland, legal carry used to be an impossibility so it seems improbable to forget we are carrying. For those that are used to carrying and especially If we owned our own private plane; we wouldn't be used to the TSA rummaging through our stuff either.
Those of us who are gun savvy remember stories of people being thrown into Mexican prisons because of bringing guns into the country. I wonder how much he paid off an official to get the hell out?

Often, no. Many countries don't screen planes at all, just passengers and their baggage on public planes. Some countries screen private plane passengers, but rarely go through their things. Many countries just want the passenger manifest of the private plane. Many never even get their passport stamped. Which can lead to problems in some countries if they aren't going back out on the private plane.
