That's right, you read that right. We have started a Clay Target Team at a Public High School in Maryland! We have just started a fundraiser, and if you can copy and paste the link below to help us during our inaugural season. We are 100% self funded and would like this to be a successful first season. Congrats! It's nice to hear that a public school has a youth competitive shooting team. How were you able to get the school on board with the idea? Schools around my area don't appear receptive to firearms related discussions.

Hey Kilo Tango, thanks for the Congrats! I figured when I started this thing three years ago, I had a 30% chance of succeeding, but I tried anyway. I probably wouldn't have tried if I was still in P.G. Co. After the first meeting, I figured I had a 50% chance, so I kept trying. We voted a couple of like minded individuals onto the local school board, and got approval, even though the Superintendent at the time was against the team. We have a new Superintendent now. This first year they limited us to 10 students, but we had 33 sign up. I already have 2 incoming freshmen for next year, and we won't be the only public school team in the state this time next year!

This is awesome. I shot on a clay target team competitively in college. Never knew it existed at the high school level.

Yamhandss, the USA High School Clay Target League started in 2007 in Minnesota with just three teams and have expanded to 1,310 teams in 34 states. I am inviting a few of the Local College Teams out to shoot with our Team to show them the opportunity to shoot at the College level.
