You inspired me to go ahead and get another. I got a Grade A that doesn't look any better than your Grade B, but it came with a very nice holster and a second mag, so I feel like I did OK. Of course, I added on a few boxes of ammo, then when I stopped at store to see if they have 9x18 in stock, I left with a commercial Russian Mak. There's just no way to get out of this hobby cheap.

I am tempted to get another as well but I already have a few P-64s.

In the unlikely event that Trump gets us national carry, I am carrying my $200 P-64. It is the perfect carry gun, IMHO. Has a sweet safety, heavy DA trigger pull (which I like) and a loaded chamber indicator. Only bummer is that it's not drop safe. I have several compact Glocks but I'll be packing the P64 if that ever becomes an option for me.

    S&W Model 28-2

Wow, didn't even know that this thread existed. I've been slacking about showing off my acquisitions, but this beauty just came in today. S&W Model 28-2, first revolver that I've ever purchased. It's in awesome condition as far as I can tell in my (amateur) opinion. The cylinder rotates smoothly with no wobble, lockup is tight, and it seems to cycle well. This is a solid gun and I can't wait to take it to the range. It looks really good for something manufactured over 50 years ago.

It shouldn't be, but apparently passed the CA drop test allowing it for carry permit holders there. Assume they do the test with all safeties operational. The Makarov pistol, not too much bigger in size, also passed the test. Ordered a 4th Bulgarian not long ago when Dan's Sporting Goods had them in stock again (unissued ones with two matching mags). Like having a bit of platform redundancy.

The M1917 is one of my favorite rifles. Terribly underrated in my opinion. I'm guessing yours must have spent some time in England due to the British proofmarks. I wonder if it was a Red Band Lend-Lease rifle before Bubba ruined the stock.

I feel bad because I actually have a spare original M1917 stock that I've been waiting to use on a stock-less rifle like yours but they're so hard to find I don't want to give it up

It's got a big hairline crack down the front end anyway so it might not be a good candidate to use for a shooter rifle. Luckily it's discrete and not very noticeable, but a couple days ago I was actually thinking I should start a thread to look for ideas of how to best fix it

Ive done wood glue and Clamp with other stocks that had a hairline in them.
