After the .41AE was prematurely stillborn, the pistol already had an identity as Model 941 , and Action Arms stuck with it.

    #1 Shooting and Handloading Partner actually has a 941 in .41 .

My favorite gun. Love mine to death. Had no trouble getting an original 941 transferred to my dealer from an out of state FFL.

There have been multiple generations of Jerichos with different model numbers. It is possible that the current batch from IWI may need to be resubmitted. They also may let it slide because it's listed under IMI.

Quick question on this pistol - is the Jericho the same as the Magnum Research Baby Eagle? Thought I saw that on TV or read it in mag sometime?

Depends on what MR BE we're talking about.

The MR BE I pistols were first-gen IMI Jerichos with slide safeties/decockers. There are minor frame differences compared to what you see now, mostly in the area of finger grooves and accessory rails.

The MR BE II pistols were second-gen IMI/IWI Jerichos with slide safeties/decockers. These are the closest to what IWI-US is offering nowadays.

The ME BE III pistols are third-gen BUL Cherokees and second-gen BUL Storms with slide safeties/decockers.

There is also a THIRD generation polymer Jericho that IWI recently showed off at a trade show. No more finger grooves, and it has a better accessory rail and replaceable backstraps. If I wanted to buy a new polymer Jericho, this is the one I'd wait for.

There's also the Barak line of pistols that was discontinued 5+ years ago, imported as the MR SP-21 line. These were pretty rocking (top decocker button, frame safety, and a great dual recoil spring system), but are mostly unobtainium as this point.

During the 90s Battle of the Middle-Weights, being a cartridge designed in a foreign country put it at a major disadvantage. The cartridge wasn't bad, it just matched the 40 S&W, which had a better selection of bullets versus the 41 AE.
