This is why the tin foil hattery exists.
If a government law enforcement agency can use a mentally disabled person to help carry out a mission, then there's literally no limit to what else they may do.

And if the ATF is doing something like this, imagine what the CIA/FBI/NSA is doing.

Trust me you don't want to know.

I don't think there is anything tin foil hattery about it. People can see all the stuff going on in all these agencies/bureaus/organizations. It doesn't even take stretching the imagination any more to figure out their goal - complete control.

They control the FSA by controlling most of what they get and have. They are trying to control those who are more 'independent' or 'self reliant' by increasing the laws and regulations to the point where everyone is probably guilty of something.

If you can't catch the real criminals then just create some opportunistic criminals that you can catch.

Between this and Fast & Furious, they've caused more problems than they've solved.

Defunding ATF would be a great start to deficit reduction.

People in the Fark.com comments on this story were blaming the NRA for "castrating the ATF" and having a lack of resources to find real criminals.

    I'm not joking.

That is the MO for most bureaucratic agencies who have outlived their original intent - cause more problems to 'fix' or expand their area of influence. Many of them truly are like a cancer on society.
