So I am aware that in order to obtain a CCW permit, one must fall under a certain set of circumstances. Two of the circumstances are being a business owner (under some more circumstances) and personal protection. My situation is as follows:

My partner (female) and I are the owners of a real estate investing company, and we typically enter foreclosed homes in order to inspect the condition of the property. More often than not the houses have been vandalized by a bunch of punks who break in to do drugs, or have broken into the house to steal the copper piping out of the walls.

So far my experiences have included going into a house where I came across open needles and small plastic bags (heroin presumably), multiple homes where the walls have been ripped open with copper just being ripped out. My most recent experience was a property that we are in the midst of acquiring as we speak. We entered the property last week and everything was in (relatively) good condition. I returned to the property without my partner today to find the door kicked in an the copper taken out of the basement. While I was looking around the exterior of the house to survey what has gone on, one of the neighbors came over and started asking me a bunch of questions, thinking that I was someone who was trying to trash the house.

Every time I go into a house for the first time, I get pretty tensed up and concerned as to what I'm going to find when I open the front door. Luckily I am yet to walk into a house where the perp was still there, but the law of averages says my luck is bound to run out at some point. What if I walk in to some guy hopped up on heroin or something? It's an even bigger concern for me when my partner is with me. As much as a big mag-lite can be used as a blunt force weapon :o, it's not really going to be enough if shtf. So my question to the forum is whether or not this would be enough of a reason to be granted a CCW?

How expensive is expensive? I carry about $250-300 worth of stuff like cameras, lights, etc., but that's about it. I can start carrying large sums of cash or expensive items if need be lol

Svana; call your local police authorities and ask their opinion. Better yet, go to the court house and ask one of the judges if your circumstance qualifies for a CCW. Wouldn't hurt to mention that your significant other sometimes goes with you to these homes. Inference is that sexual assault could be an unintended consequence of inspecting these empty homes. Law enforcement is strapped for manpower and I doubt they would send a policeman out to escort you, since I am assuming if every real estate person called for a police escort and was assigned one, none would be available for police dispatches.

Can one just go knock on a judges door? Lol.

Judges don't have any role in Permit issuence. At least not at application phased. You would have to apply , be denied , appeal , be denied , then sue ala Raymond Wollard before a Judge would have any involvement.

You have zero chance. CCW in MD is for security guards and friends of those that issue the permits. No one else is allowed.

That was my first thought, but he never said his company had already bought the property, only that he was "inspecting the condition" of the house. I would imagine before purchase. Therefore the CC permit would be necessary, unless the bank didn't have a problem with him carrying.

Correct. This is before the purchase of the house.

Also, yes we intend to move into the VA area soon enough...

good luck on getting a CCW.. it will be at least 3 months before you get your denial in the mail. Honestly I would buy a Mossberg shotgun ( my choice) bring it with you ony when you are inspecting the house. As long as you transport the weapon safely and properly and act acordingly, its perfectly legal to open carry a long gun or shotgun.

Already own one. But I definitely don't want to just be toting 36" worth of firearm around whenever I'm walking around Baltimore or any other unsavory area.

That's a hell of a way to develop a rep - be the real estate agent who opens every front door with a shotgun at the ready, screaming "CLEAR!" after cutting the pie around the house.
