    Hi guys,
I'm an IPSC Shooter traveling from Bolivia to the IPSC Nationals 2013. After the match I will fly to Germantown, MD to visit my fiancé for a week, but I did not realize that there sure are different laws in other states.

I have my AFT form in order, but I wouldn't like to get into trouble for not knowing or misunderstanding VA, MD and DC regulations.

My plane arrives and departs from DCA, and of course I'll be driving across VA MD and DC. I need to know the restrictions and regulations for carrying guns and ammo there.

Of course as you all know I have high capacity mags as I compete in Standard Division and I'm affraid that could be one problem. Other thing that bothers me is how to transport the equipment, is it just like the common IATA regulations?

Please help me with that, I'm really worried about it.

DC may be a bigger concern than MD in regards to transport.

DCA is Reagan National Airport and is in Northern Va but you need to make sure to avoid crossing into DC.

    Edit wrong address...

You can go up the GW Parkway from DCA to get to the MD beltway Route 495. You do drive a very short distance (about 1 mile) through DC along the parkway on Columbia Island but if your firearm is locked unloaded in your trunk you will probably be fine. Do not drive into DC.

    Map attached.

NO. ATF knows nothing about local laws, which is your concern in my opinion.

Keep it unloaded and locked in the trunk. Don't allow a search if asked either.
