"Scallops" turn up pretty easily in a google image search for "Tokarev". Where did you get these? I plan to get a Romanian from Classic as soon as the box of disappointment (f/k/a my mailbox) surprises me with a C&R license, hopefully soon.

    Sweet looking pistols!

Um.....yours is 100% Romanian. They only ever had normal serrations. Yellowsled's have Romanian frames with Polish slides. The fact that they ruined them with those funky safety levers has always been a major turn off for me. YUCK! Otherwise they are nice pistols.

So apparently these are arsenal refurbed Romanian tokarevs with Polish (11) slide that were stamed with new serial numbers to match the frame. I believe the original sn on the slide was polished off like the Russians do to match serial numbers on their mosins. Either way, very cool and interesting pieces. One is mine and one is my dads.

    Juuuuust over the line
Those look just like my 1952 dated Polish, including the "plain" grips. My 1953 dated Romanian has the fine pitch ridges on the slide, and a five point star on the grips with RPR lettering around the bottom of the star. The Polish also has the date on the top of the slide instead of the frame, the Romanian has the date on the frame.

The greatest thing is the matching serials, CLEARLY proving they aren't some bubba'd hack job.

So, at some point, Romania bought or were gifted a bunch of Polish Tok parts which Cugir used to finish out their rearsenaling.

Does anyone know WHEN Cugir rearsenaled their stock? I just wonder if they just ran out of parts and some shift supervisor was all, "OMFG no parts wat do? Hmmm...Internet Explorer...Craigslist Warsaw...what's this? 'free...Wz.48 slidez...u pick up.' Václav!!! GET TRUCK!!!"
