The agency received more than 28,000 applications for cards during April alone.

That’s on top of an existing backlog of nearly 76,000 applications. The state police say they are dealing with a record number of applications.

Illinois State Police say they’re trying to deal with a huge backlog of applications for Firearms Owner Identification cards.

State police are supposed to approve or deny applications within 30 days.

When will the pols realize that firearms are wanted, welcomed, and safe in proper hands???

Downstate wants to protect from upstate...
Upstate wants to protect from Chicago and the I-94 corridor...
    Chicago wants protection from itself...

They all want protection from Springfield.

Sounds a WHOLE lot like Maryland!!!

Recently submitted my ME handgun renewal application. Was advised there is a 5 month backlog. Good news is state law says expired permits remains valid as long as application was submitted properly.

Thread should be in National 2A forum.
