Even if they could carry on mass transit, the $150 fee + 2 days of training (more $$$$) will likely remove them from consideration. There's that ever-present condescending liberal view on the poor.

It shouldn't. This is shall issue in name only. Local officials can still say no and the review boards are stacked. Chicago is already saying they're going to reject everybody they can.Just heard and this made my night.
Not totally whacked, then. Still annoying though. The renewal training requirement is 3 hours.
Yes!!!!!!!!
Can't wait for Smigiel and McDermott speeches next January on this!

Keep in mind that the bill's biggest backer is the AG's father. This can still go to the SCOTUS. I think it would be dumb to do so, but the Senate can still reject the bill, the gov can veto it, and/or the AG can appeal to the SCOTUS. I think most realize that is probably not a good plan for them, but their arrogance may trump their common sense.
Also.... The safest place to commit a violent crime will be public transit.UGH, the public transit one is sickening. Someone really needs to come out and point out how these policies destroy the poor.
If public transit is the most dangerous place to be their revenue will drop like a rock.
Many have no choice but to ride public transit.
And Maryland's isn't?
I would have wished the matter to be decided by SCOTUS. It would have been better for all.
