what handgun would you issue to James Bond? This pop'd into my head after reading a message from a collector friend somd_mustang who saw my HSc thread and mused that he thought it would have ideally fit the cool factor of James Bond. Couldn't agree with him more, would have been my top choice too. Thought it would make a nice survey question. To make it interesting I'll give you two choices: early 60's vintage Bond and today's Bond.
You already know what I want for the vintage: HSc. My choice for modern Bond is the HK P7.

    Where they send me.
P7 is a great pistol but would have to be an 80's or 90's Bond as it's been out of production for a while and he tended to use new cutting edge things.

The Bond Arms Bullpup 9 could be an option, bit small though so maybe as a backup to tuxedo gun.

Maybe the new Wilson EDC X9?

Bersa Thunder 380 CC ... the similar configuration should make the transition for ClassicBond almost seamless (and there's a duo-tone variant that would pair nicely with a tuxeudo.)

Well, since 007 does one shot kills, I guess he can stay with a 380acp
Back to Beretta with a Cheetah (84) in 380

Staying with the 1 shot kill theme. It should be a gun with the best combination of capacity and concealability. So he can take out the most tbad guys without reloading :D

As much as it pains me to say(Not a glock fan) G26 with 15 rd mags.

Hard to beat a 7.65 PPK for shooting pleasure and carryability. Continue the Walther theme with a silenced TPH for close quiet work; Bond is an assassin first and foremost, after all.

A nice Makarov would up the amperage over a 32ACP, and have the advantage of being somewhat 'sanitized" for political deniability.

Or he could upgrade to a .32 Seecamp. He would look good with this

Seecamp is also doing a 380 on the same frame. I suspect it hurts to shoot. And maybe just a tad small in hand.

I'd been lusting for a Seecamp 32. Put off by HQL and price. Ammo sensitive, too, apparently. Also the PPK is just so sweet to shoot, and eats anything I feed it. Possibly my bias is showing.

If I were Q, I'd want Bond to have a little more firepower than decades past:

    CZ Rami 2075 BD

I'd send it off to Cajun Gun Works to have them do their magic before I gave it to him, though.

I like the Beretta 84 idea - classic that looks great with a tux.

Berettas are stylish pistols for sure.

Maybe a Cheetah 86 in 380? Connery is getting long in the tooth at 87, he may have trouble working the slide.

For folk of a certain vintage, he is the One and Only Bond.

I'd issue him a PPK for use with a suit - there's nothing wrong with that pistol. Otherwise I'd issue him a PPQ.
